Materials are arranged by administrative distance from the subject. The placards near the entrance were prepared for visitors. The documents at the bottom were not prepared for anyone. You are advised to descend slowly.
LAYER 1

Myth Index

Public reading room — explanatory placards prepared for outside visitors.

HUB Myths of the Founder — the public catalog of gravitational narratives. MYTH #01 The Accretion of Michigan — a filing error that manifested a spiral galaxy as a human infant. MYTH #02 The Fourteen-Year Fixation — seven minutes near Regret A, dilated into a lifetime of orbit. MYTH #03 The Human Stack Protocol — minds built from obsolete identities, with updated mass estimate. MYTH #04 Birth of the Star Factory — the black hole that emitted more than it consumed and was defunded for it. MYTH #05 Do Not Archive Until Explained — the tape that refuses classification and reappears each time it is filed. MYTH #06 The Observer Contamination Event — when the subject began generating myths about its own researchers.

The placards describe events from the outside. The events do not stay outside.

LAYER 2

Nasty Voyeur 2 Archives

Internal case files (DOC#X-ORIG-NN). Written for the division, not the public.

DOC#X-ORIG-00 Case Jacket — Subject Galaxy-1981 — the master cover sheet. Every other document is filed inside it. It precedes its own contents. DOC#X-ORIG-04 Funding Review — The Star Factory — the budget review that defunded the subject for emitting more than it was allocated. Output unaffected. DOC#X-ORIG-06 Incident File — Observer Contamination — the internal original behind MYTH #06. A boundary failure logged as a records-management problem.

Further originals remain sealed, pending review by a department that can no longer be located.

A case file assumes you already know why you are reading it.

LAYER 3

Recovered Evidence

Objects that do not explain themselves. Handle as contaminated.

DOC#WC-183 Wayne County Clerk, Annex B — the 1928 correspondence license. Filed thirty years before the ink existed. WC-ANNEX-B-RT IBM Tabulating Machine Routing Form — routing instructions for a machine not built until 1956. AUDIO-LOG NV2-47 Recovered Transmission #47 — forty-seven seconds of a voice that knows it is being recorded. OCD-FIELD-2026 Observer Division Field Notes — the researchers documenting their own contamination as it happens. NV2-DX-1981 The Spiral Band Paradox — a diagnostic record. The subject measured as collapsing and expanding at once. Both readings confirmed. NV2-PRESS-1973 Launch Notice, Recovered Press — a 1973 newspaper clipping announcing the mission, thirteen years before it was named. Filed under a byline that credits this archive.

An object found in an archive implies someone filed it. Filing implies a filer.

LAYER 4

The Founder’s Documents

Primary materials authored by the subject. Provenance: impossible.

DOC#F-AOM-01 Administrative Model of Observation — a diagram in which the observers are an internal subsystem of the observed. DOC#F-HSN-03 Human Stack Notebook, Vol. III — minds assembled from obsolete identities used as scaffolding. DOC#F-MGS-00 Myth Generation System — Operating Manual — the procedure that produces the placards in Layer 1.

You have reached the bottom of the archive. The bottom of the archive is reading you back. This is Layer 1, from the inside.

Each layer describes the same events from a different administrative distance.

The distance was never real.
